Get involved
Join the sacred conversation
God is already present and active among the detained. We are simply called to show up alongside them. Here is how you can be part of this ministry.
Whether you are a congregation, a pastor, a seminarian, or an individual who feels called — there is a place for you here. This work requires consistent, long-term presence. We are not looking for one-time volunteers. We are building a community of accompaniment.
Ways to get involved
Become a visitor
Train to visit detained individuals at the Northwest ICE Processing Center. Volunteers undergo specialized ecumenical training and commit to regular, sustained presence — holding space for prayer, listening, and relationship.
Express interestJoin the Grief Circle
The Grief Circle, led by Rachel Pierre, provides trauma-informed accompaniment for detained women. If you have a background in pastoral care, counseling, or trauma-informed ministry, we want to hear from you.

Is your congregation part of the Southwestern Washington Synod? We are building a cross-section of mainline church volunteers. Talk to your pastor about how your community can join the network.
Connect your congregationAdvocate
Add your voice to calls for humane immigration policy and the end of family separation. We equip faith communities to speak clearly, write letters, and show up in the halls of power.
Take actionWhat to expect
All volunteers undergo specialized ecumenical training before entering the facility. This training covers trauma-informed accompaniment, the theology of presence, and the specific context of immigration detention.
We ask for a sustained commitment — not a one-time visit. The ministry of accompaniment is built on trust, and trust is built over time. We will walk with you as you walk with the detained.
